» Employable Skills Development for illiterate and semi-literate ladies
[Target population: 600 unemployed young ladies]
Justification: The desire of DYF to join the Government and other agencies in empowering the youth with employable skills, particularly in batik, is justified for the following reasons:
-
It has a mandate and moral right, as an NGO, to create the necessary awareness and to educate its community members in general and the youth in particular.
-
It is imperative that the youth of its immediate environ of operations benefit from such initiatives and programmes
-
It is an investment in our people and productivity needs of our country
-
It enhances the image of the DYF and fulfils the Government’s desire for youth empowerment and self-employment
-
The teeming numbers of the youth who are prepared to be empowered have to have access to such training programmes in order to take advantage of the benefits.
Goal: The programme is aimed at reducing the risk of unemployment among the youth of Ga East District and Adentan Municipal Assemblies, by helping to provide them with employable skills in batik making.
