» Development of Recreational Grounds for youth health and skills development
[Target population: Young girls and boys within operational area]
Justification: The desire of DYF to join the Government and other agencies in constructing health and physical infrastructure for youth training and development.

It has a mandate and moral right, as an NGO, to create the necessary awareness and to educate its community members in general and the youth in particular.

It is imperative that the youth of its immediate environ of operations benefit from such initiatives and programmes

Provision of health and recreational facilities is an investment in our people and productivity needs of our country

It enhances the image of the DYF and fulfils the Government’s desire for youth potential development
Goal: A successful implementation will not only see the fulfillment of DYF’s desire of providing voluntary service to the youth of Ga East and Adentan communities, but also ensuring that the youth of today have the facilities to train and unearth their talents and potentials.
Actions to effect project: Activities to achieve the anticipated results include:
- Baseline needs assessment of the training programme
- Advocacy and sensitization within target communities
- Scouting and selection of areas for facility development
- Procurement of training materials and equipment
- Monitoring, Supervision and Evaluation of programmes.
Project Outcomes: Anticipated results achieved after the implementation of the training programme include:
- 10 recreational grounds developed and equipped
- Teams of selected games and sports formed
- Management Committees formed to nurture and develop teams
- Competitive games among teams encouraged
- A 10-member Training Grounds Steering Committee formed to coordinate activities and maintenance of the facilities provided
- Evaluation and reporting systems developed to enhance follow-up activities.
